| Scan from the Custom Button

| 1. Do one of the following to open the Button Configuration window:
|
| · | Double-click the icon |
| · | Right-click the icon |
|
|
| 2. | When the Button Configuration window appears, click the Custom 1 or Custom 2 button on the left pane. Select PDF Utility from the drop-down list of Button Template. Enter your personal memo in the Description field.

| 3. | Select Searchable PDF from the drop-down list of File Format (Color, Grayscale, B/W).
|
|
| 4. | Check the scan settings and make any required changes.
|
|
|
| 5. | After all settings are done, click |
|
|
| 6. | Right-click the icon |
|
|
| 7. | Click Custom 1 or Custom 2 button function in the pop-up menu.
|

| Scan from the OCR Button
|
|
|
| 1. | Do one of the following to open the Button Configuration window:

| · | Double-click the icon |
| · | Right-click the icon |
|
|
| 2. | When the Button Configuration window appears, click the OCR button on the left pane. Enter your personal memo in the Description field.

|
|
| 3. | Select an OCR application to convert the scanned images into characters readable by your word processor or text viewer.
|
| The availability of the programs may vary depending on the scanner model you purchase.

| 4. | Clicking |

| 5. | Select Portable Document Format (*.pdf) from the drop-down list of File Format.

| 6. | Check the scan settings and make any required changes.
